I live in the SE corner of NM, a small town without the resources of a big city. When I discovered a tame and lovable young blind kitten, I tried to find her a home after having her spayed and vaccinated. Since I already have 8 cats, I couldn't take another who is blind so our Artesia Animal Clinic took care of her for 11 days while I frantically tried to find a good forever home for her. Our vet and I thought she might see shadows and she is completely grey - thus her name, Shadow.
When I found her a perfect home with Robbie Griffin, it was in Atlanta GA!! Then I had to find a safe, non-stressful way to get her there. After internet research, Pet Express Transport Service was the only way without having to change vehicles and planes as she traveled with other animals. With her handicap, the trama would have been excessive. Mike Avery was a godsend. Such a big, loving man with an exceptionally friendly personality who loves all animals is a unique mix. He drove long hours to get here for a little innocent blind kitten, then after a short rest and meal, more long hours with her to Atlanta. He kept in touch with me along the way, gave Shadow loving attention and petting as well as feeding and constantly checking and talking with her as they traveled. As he got close to Atlanta, he made sure Robbie was there and waiting, checking with us both a couple of times.
For anyone who needs to transport a pet safely and stress free plus getting love on the way and making sure the animal's family is reassured during the trip, there is no other transport service that comes close to Mike Avery's Pet Express Transport Service. In my opinion, there is no need to subject another animal to the baggage compartment of a plane.

Recently, a kind woman found a blind cat wandering around town in Southeast New Mexico. She has 8 cats of her own, but through the years has done rescue work as well. After assuring a good vetting and boarding, the challenge was finding her a new home. I have some experience with blind animals and have a blind dog and 3 sighted cats. We agreed an immediate transport was needed. but who? What was best for the cat and would stress her out least? The run-of-the-mill transports are via plane or large volume companies that take many pets and stop "along the way" to pick up and drop off. Not so with P.E.T.S. It's all about you and it's all about YOUR pet, their comfort, and their safety. After a 1300 mile ride, I had this little blind girl with me in Atlanta, GA. Planes are noisy and hot or cold, with many other pets possibly in the baggage hold, and there is always some level of risk to your pet's health or even their life! Sometimes it's necessary, but why take risks? Those that work to transport pets in groups have many pets who are unfamiliar with one another, dogs and cats, in close quarters. Mike not only loves animals and treats these little ones as if they're his own. I couldn't have asked for someone more dependable, conscientious and personable. The little ones seem to take to him! He called often from the road to advise where he was and how it was going, and how the cat was doing as well. Upon arrival, Mike presented me with a little blind cat who I feel was far less traumatized than if I'd used other transportation options and put her at far less risk. Money well spent! P.E.T.S. and Mike hit a home run. I'll be using them if I ever make a long-distance move and I'll be recommending him and singing this outfit's praises for a long time to come. Thanks Mike and P.E.T.S. for providing such a great service.

We had found our beautiful little girl Tessa on petfinder.com, and knew right away that we wanted to be her forever family. The only problem was that our work schedules wouldn't allow for us to drive from Buffalo,NY to Amelia,OH to pick her up. I contacted Mike on Friday evening and let him know my situation. He wanted to know when I wanted to transport Tessa and I told him ASAP. I wanted to get her out of the rescue as soon as possible, and I didn't want to miss out on becoming her new family.Mike let me know that he could have Tessa to us on the following Monday! I had to contact Mike quite a few times over the next couple of days to finalize all the details between the rescue, myself, and Mike. He was accommodating and professional anytime I contacted him (day or night). I was called by Mike before, and during the trip to let us know everyone was fine, and when we could be expecting them. We were so excited when they arrived, and you could tell that Tessa was very fond of Mike. I would not hesitate to recommend Mike to anyone I know, and I definitely would use his services again.
My family and Tessa would like to Thank You once again for all your help!

![]() Estell Ringel Cleveland, OH Hi, Mike I am finally getting settled at home and adjusting to shivering again, after our return trip from Florida. I do want to thank you for making a very long trip go by so smoothly. It was such a relief to me to have someone at the wheel who is as calm and easy-going as you are. You certainly made sure that both Jet and I had everything we needed and it was obvious that Jet trusted you, which is not the case with everyone. I would feel very comfortable sending Jet with you alone. Please be assured that, if I make this round trip again, I will be calling you to get on your schedule. In the meantime, have a good year and enjoy your family times.
Best Wishes, Estelle Ringel

Hi, Mike,
As I thought about arrangements for our return trip to the cold, I realized I never properly thanked you for making the trip down to Florida so easy. I had no experience with trying to get a loaded car, a dog and me safely through a 20-hour trip, but you made it so pleasant that I have no worries about the return. Your calmness and flexibility were great, and it was obvious that you got along very well with my dog. I would have no qualms about sending him with you alone.
So, thanks for all you did in January. I look forward to seeing you in March.

As a coordinator of the American Bouvier Rescue League, I have sometimes encountered rescue dogs who are in difficult situations, or are located in areas far from the home and adopters that would be a perfect "forever home." The adopters of our Rescues may not be in a position to drive long distances to adopt their new family members, but once approved for an adoption, may choose a transport company to unite them with their new family member. One Bouvier des Flandres rescue dog comes to mind, Honey, who was located many States away from her adoptive family and in a less than ideal situation. Honey's previously stressful life didn't make her the most friendly dog to strangers and this gave us some concern about her transport. Mike Avery transported Honey for her new adopters in Maryland all the way from Missouri. Mike kept us all informed of progress during the trip with frequent reassuring updates. A short time into the trip, this difficult and frightened dog identified Mike himself as a safe port in her tempestuous life and she quickly bonded to him. She arrived safe and sound and in wonderful shape at her destination and actually, with a new, more favorable outlook on life in general. Mike was a good pick as a transporter for this girl and plan to recommend him in future for potential adopters who require transport services.
Hi Mike,
Can't tell you how many times I've thought about you and how great you were in getting Honey, formerly known as Abigail, from Missouri to Deborah and Bob in Columbus, North Carolina.
From the minute I communicated with you via phone and email, I know that Honey was in good hands. She was so traumatized from the way she was treated by her previous owners and unbeknownst to us, she also had a serious infection as a result of her spaying surgery.
She must have sensed that you were a good person and that no harm would come to her from you. Anyone who can connect with an animal the way you did with Honey is a special person indeed.
I would recommend your animal transport to anyone without hesitation. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking care of Honey on her journey to us. My husband and I drove from Maryland to Columbus to bring her home. My husband is now her BFF and I think that the time she spent with you,Deborah and Bob from ABRL gave her the realization that people were good.
Thanks again,
Sharon and John O'Neill

Hi,
My name is Missy I and I’d like to tell you about Mike! I used to live in Albuquerque New Mexico but my Mom and Dad had to go into a retirement community because of their health. They couldn’t take me with them but they absolutely refused to move until I had the perfect home. When my Aunt and Uncle in Louisville found out I needed a new home they got so excited. They really, really wanted me,!!!! The only problem was that Louisville was really far away. My Mom and Dad in Albuquerque didn’t want me to go on a plane and deal with all the trauma of a plane ride. Lucky for me they found Mike. Mike said he would take me to my new home in a van. Cool, I love car rides!
Mike came all the way to Albuquerque to get me. I liked Mike right away and he really took the time to get to know me before we had to leave. On the trip to Louisville, Mike made me feel so special. He gave me lots of love and treats! WOW! What a nice guy! When he delivered me to my new family, I was sad to see him go, but I was soon smothered in kisses and love. My new family thought the time I spent with Mike really helped me transition to my new home. They said that Mike is the only guy they’d ever trust to transport any of their pets……….he’s the best!
Thanks again Mike! (Got any more treats???)

This letter expresses our appreciation and thankfulness for transporting Mozart, Fluffy, and Milo in a timely manner. You exceeded our expectations by going above and beyond the call of duty. The obstinacy you encountered at kennels is inexcusable and your tenacity in completing the transportation is commendable. As an act of gratuity, we wish to present a check to you in recognition of our appreciation for how you handled the transport of our babies.
Sincerely
R Jose
